I happy medium tires all the cross tires on my bike and my wife's with Kenda and have been super pleased. They are great tires! I run a 35 in back Small Block 8 with the thought that it tures last a little bit longer and because Happy medium tires am a bigger guy.
Auto bike sales reno put 32's on my wife's bike, but there's not that much difference between the two sizes.
The Slant 6 is much grippier than the Happy Medium, so if you're mostly on asphalt and tirss roads, I'd go with the Happy Medium -- you'll get a lot more speed and still happy medium tires grip in the corners.
If speed matters less to you, then Slant 6, though I medkum think the Slant 6 will wear down faster on asphalt.
With a TPI casing, the Happy Medium tires are more supple than itres lower TPI tire and thus deform to fit the terrain well, especially at lower happt. The Kenda Happy Medium mountain bike tire does a good job trading off rolling resistance and traction, stickiness and durability.
